The Broad Street Bully a.k.a. Mack Mittens a.k.a. Beanie Crocker (cooks coke proper) is probably one of my all-time favorite rappers for two reasons: one- he’s from South Philly like me and two- because he’s the truth (no pun intended).
From slingin’ drugs to catching cases while at the peak of his career (attempted murder), Mack says the realest, grimiest street shit you’ll hear in music.
He’s been through all types of crazy shit from getting shot and robbed, his stepfather being found dead in an alley shot and set on fire, doing federal jail time and getting fucked over by Jay Z when the whole State Property thing was poppin’.
