Deep Cover x Deep Cover ’98

Deep Cover is one of the meanest early ’90’s (1992) drug flicks that ever came out. Lawrence Fishburne, back before he was Morpheus, was a regular LAPD copper that was chosen by some DEA boss to go, you guessed it, deep cover to infiltrate a South American drug gang. Once he sees all the behind-the-scenes bureaucratic and political bullshit he pretty much says fuck it and goes off on his own until even more fuck-shit takes place and he ends up stuck like Chuck trying to decide what to do with the $11 million he stole from the South Americans.

Anyway, one of, if not thee illest soundtracks came from the movie, also Titled “Deep Cover” from Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog (their debut track right before The Chronic & Doggystyle blew up) and was followed up by a remake from Fat Joe & Big Pun, titled “Deep Cover ’98”. It’s hard to decide which is better because the lyrics are pure fire on both versions. Check ’em out and try to decide for yourself.
