Eric B. & Rakim Nominated For Induction To Hip-Hop Hall Of Fame
The final nominees for the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have yet to be officially revealed, but according to reports from AllHipHop and a social media post by Eric B’s manager Louis Gregory, the duo has received a nomination. “Eric B. & Rakim have been nominated for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame. Representing Eric B is not just my job, it’s an honor,” his post stated.
This marks the second nomination for the groundbreaking duo, having been previously nominated in 2012. If they are inducted, Eric B. & Rakim will join the esteemed ranks of Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5, Public Enemy, NWA, The Beastie Boys, LL COOL J, Missy Elliott, and Kool Herc as honored Hip-Hop recipients of this prestigious accolade.
Their debut album, “Paid In Full,” released in 1987, is widely credited as a seminal work during one of Hip-Hop’s most innovative eras. It has left an indelible mark, with artists like Nas, Eminem, and many others citing it as a direct influence on their own music.
