Ice-T Warns Younger Rappers About Appearing On Podcasts

Ice-T recently expressed his lack of enthusiasm for contemporary podcasts. In a Twitter post on Friday (May 12), the rapper-turned-SVU star advised younger rappers to be cautious when appearing on podcast shows, as their words could potentially be manipulated and distorted beyond recognition.

In his tweet, he shared a word of caution: “Artist Public Service: Doing Interviews can be risky if you Don’t know what you’re doing. They will talk to you for hours hoping you say one thing they can twist and hype up for clicks. Unfortunately, most podcasts have now devolved to this BS. Just saying.”

Ice-T’s message serves as a reminder that interviews can carry risks if one is not aware of the potential pitfalls. He highlights how certain podcasts may prioritize sensationalism over genuine conversation, leading to the distortion of statements for the sake of generating online attention.

Ice-T, a legendary figure in the Hip Hop genre, has garnered immense respect from both his peers and younger generations alike. This recognition was further solidified when he received his well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in February.

The star-studded event saw the presence of fellow Hip Hop pioneer Chuck D, his Law & Order: Special Victims Unit co-star Mariska Hargitay, and the creator of Law & Order, Dick Wolf, who served as guest speakers at the ceremony.

While Ice-T is widely recognized for his longstanding role in the acclaimed police drama, it is his trailblazing music career that earned him this prestigious honor on the Walk of Fame. He will be awarded the star in the Recording category, reflecting his significant contributions to the world of music.

In a statement, Ana Martinez, the producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, described Ice-T as a cultural icon and a multi-faceted success in both the music and television industries. She expressed her anticipation for the excitement among his fans upon seeing their beloved artist honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Ana Martinez further revealed that Ice-T’s star will be placed in close proximity to those of other music legends such as Thelonius Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Luciano Pavarotti, Mama Cass Elliott, John Denver, and Herbie Hancock, among others.

Ice-T himself responded to the news with pleasant surprise, recognizing the irony of being immortalized in a neighborhood where he had encountered legal issues in the past. Taking to Twitter, he shared his thoughts, stating, “When I think about how many times I got arrested in Hollywood… This is a trip.”

Ice-T’s star will be the 2,747th addition to the illustrious Hollywood Walk of Fame. He will join a select group of only 11 Hip Hop acts to have received this esteemed recognition, following in the footsteps of Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, LL COOL J, Diddy, Ice Cube, Pharrell, Missy Elliott, and Queen Latifah, among others.
