Mobb Deep | Burn

Mobb Deep’s 2001 album “Infamy” unveiled its inaugural single in the form of “The Learning (Burn)”. This release held particular significance as it emerged in response to Jay-Z’s “Takeover,” a track that not only targeted Mobb Deep but also fellow Queensbridge rapper Nas. The song operates on a subliminal diss level, adding an intriguing layer to the musical landscape.

“The Learning (Burn)” stands out as one of the standout tracks from the album, effectively countering the perception of a somewhat underwhelming project from the Queensbridge duo. Its impact was such that it found its place in the compilation album “Life of the Infamous: The Best of Mobb Deep” in 2006, solidifying its status as a noteworthy hit.

This is one of those nostalgic tracks that, as soon as I hear it, it brings me back to the early 2000’s, when we wore hoodies and Timberlands, smoked nothing but strawberry Phillies blunts loaded with weed & wet (loveboat), and did things we had no business doing in places we had no business being. Street shit. The instrumental will completely destroy anything that has come out in recent years & I’ll bet money on it. Anyway, enough of this shit. Check the video.
