The brand new 24K Chrome is something I’m proud of. Proud like I was when I figured out the buffproof black ink recipe that absolutely shits on all the other alleged, so-called “buffproof” inks on the market. You know…the ones that disappear when it rains or someone sprays window cleaner on it. I don’t know what happened to graffiti supplies, the ink to be specific, but it seems like the game now is pretty labels, trendy-looking packaging and trash product. Literally trash.

The one thing I’ve always stuck to was using high quality pigments, solvents, plastic (or glass or aluminum) bottles, whatever it was that I sourced to make Illadel products. The labels might not have been too sexy and the actual design may have changed a few times over the years but the quality remained the same, and the quality is all that matters in my opinion. Anyway, enough of my subliminal hatred of other shitty, misleading supplies and on to the 24K Chrome.

For those older vandals & artists that have been buying Illadel products over the years, you might see the name “24K Chrome” and think it sounds a bit familiar. You are correct. Back before I started acting reckless and going away for all that time, back when Illadel was seriously poppin’, I had the 18K Chrome in the aluminum slimline bottles. That was the Chrome-Aluminum and that paint itsel was a great product. Shiny as all hell, permanent as fuck, the packaging was pretty tuff and you could use the paint, which was oil-based, in valve markers as well as mops.

The new 24K Chrome is a whole different animal. This Chrome is extra heavy on the bling and it dries to an almost mirror-finish. I mean I held a lighter up to the paint when it was dry and I was able to read the text on the warning label, so I would call that mirror finish. It also reflects light like nothing else on the market.

The traffic light reflection in the 24K Chrome blends from the actual chrome color to the green from the traffic light to a blueish-purple I’m guessing is from the shadow.

Then I hit one of those big orange construction barrier things or whatever they’re called and snapped another pic. However the lighting was where I took the picture made it look like a 2-tone tag.

The flat part of the barrier looked black and the lower part that comes out on a slight angle stayed chrome.

And last, I just snapped one more flick of the 24K Chrome on a rough textured surface just to see how it would look with the flash on & I’ll be gotdamn, the paint is bright as hell.

You can see the bright mirror-like finish in this picture from the flash on the camera.

Like I said, there isn’t another chrome refill that blings the way the 24K Chrome does, not that I know of and if there is, not at the super-low price of only $12.00 for a 4oz. bottle. I posted the 4oz. refill bottles as well as a 2oz. squeeze mops on the shop for anyone interested in adding some of this fire to their arsenal. This paint will definitely get your handstyles and tags noticed.
