New Rust-Oleum 5-In-1 Spray Cans
So the other day I’m in Home Depot and like any typical graffiti-addicted mental case I had to slide on through the spray paint aisle just to get a quick fix and I saw Rust-Oleum has these new 5-in-1 can designs. At first the nozzle reminded me of one of those garden hoses where you can twist the nozzle to adjust the stream of water…same concept I guess. Now I haven’t had the chance to try one of these cans out yet but from the people I spoke to about it said the actual cap/nozzle is pretty good but the paint itself has fallen even lower in quality than it’s ever been.
I wonder why Rust-Oleum doesn’t leave the gimmicks and goofy shit alone and focus on the actual product they’re known for, which is paint. I mean make the paint thicker for god’s sakes. The color range is half-decent but goddamn, for a company that makes paint to have such shitty paint makes no sense to me. It’s kinda like Microsoft, a company that creates computer software and technology making Internet Explorer, which is quite possibly the worst, most disfunctional web browser ever created. Any damn way…..
New 5-In-1 Nozzle
Like most online retailers, they try to dress up the “new feature” or product and make you think it’s the best thing since the wheel was invented. The quote below is from Home Depot’s website:
“The Rust-Oleum Stops Rust with Custom Spray 5-in-1 allows you to choose from five custom spray patterns for ultimate control and confidence over your next project. Turn the dial to select one of five positions. Use the high output spray for large curved surfaces, standard for a traditional experience, low output to paint details and corners without drips and runs, and vertical or horizontal fans for flat surfaces. When you’re done, turn the dial to the lock position and store the remaining spray paint for your next project.
The advanced Stops Rust formula spray paint delivers 30% greater corrosion resistance and enhanced color retention compared to original matching Stops Rust colors with the standard spray paint tip. The durable, protective coating provides ultimate rust prevention for a long-lasting finish and excellent resistance to abrasion, fading, chipping and dulling. Apply this fast-drying spray paint on indoor and outdoor metal and wood projects such as mailboxes, patio furniture and more for a tough, attractive finish and longer-lasting color.”
If your looking for advice I have none to offer as far as these new cans go. The paint itself has fallen even lower on the quality scale but maybe this new nozzle will even the scales (somehow). Check the video posted below and make your own decision.
