Pentel N450 Cobalt Violet Bullet Point

The Pentel N450 Cobalt Violet Bullet Point is another nice marker that isn’t available in the USA for whatever reason, at least not in the Cobalt Violet color.

Knowing the quality of products that Pentel puts out I’m sure these would be great for blackbooks and stickers.

I looked everywhere possible in the USA for a distributor but these specific markers in this specific color is distributed by Pentel Malaysia, so getting some for the website probably wouldn’t be worth it after the MOQ price plus shipping.

Technically I could get them but the price would be too high for a regular purple marker so I’m just gonna leave it alone.

Unless I can find someone willing to trade a couple dozen for some other supplies or maybe someone that can rack a couple dozen and sell em to me straight up.

It’s possible that the Pentel N450 cobalt violet bullet tip marker is sold exclusively in Malaysia due to a few reasons:

Market Demand: Pentel might have identified a specific demand for this color and marker type in Malaysia that doesn’t exist in other regions. Certain colors and products often cater to local preferences or artistic trends.

Limited Regional Distribution: Pentel may choose to distribute certain product lines in select countries as part of a targeted strategy, possibly due to logistical, economic, or market size considerations.

Manufacturing Location: If the markers are produced locally or nearby, it might be more cost-effective to distribute them within the region rather than exporting globally.

Test Market: Sometimes companies release products in specific regions to gauge interest before a wider launch. Malaysia might have been chosen as a test market for this product.

Cultural or Artistic Preferences: The cobalt violet shade might have specific appeal to local artists or be tied to cultural or artistic trends that resonate more in Malaysia than in other countries.

One thing I know for sure is the materials to manufacture purple or violet ink are not sold as widely as they used to be.

I was talking to my old supplier about getting some violet pigments I used to use to make violet ink and was telling them it’s hard as hell to find these specific purple/violet pigments and dyes and they said nobody really uses purple ink anymore.

Hard to believe because I do see alot of purple/violet ink & markers out there. Who the hell knows what the reason is for real. I know that won’t stop the witch hunt I’ve been on since last year.

Anyway, here’s some info from Pentel Malaysia:

The Pentel N450 cobalt violet bullet tip marker is part of Pentel’s permanent marker line. It features a bullet tip, which provides consistent, controlled lines for writing, drawing, and marking on a variety of surfaces.

The cobalt violet color stands out with a deep, vibrant hue, making it suitable for artistic projects, labeling, or general-purpose use.

Key features of the Pentel N450 marker:

There’s also a N460 variant that has a chisel tip, but I only saw them in black, green, red, and blue. Maybe I’ll holler at Pentel Malaysia and see what I gotta do to grab a couple boxes.
