Raekwon To Open “Hashtoria” Cannabis Dispensary In Newark
Raekwon has proudly announced the approval of his cannabis dispensary venture in Newark, New Jersey. The Chef recently revealed that the Newark Central Planning Board has given the green light for his inaugural Hashtoria brick-and-mortar establishment in the state.
In expressing his gratitude, Raekwon said, “THANK YOU, NEWARK, NEW JERSEY! 🙏” and extended his appreciation to his remarkable partners, including Jed Canty, Bakari Sellers, and Charlamagne Tha God, for embarking on this remarkable and culture-altering endeavor.
“@hashstoria is poised to become the premier consumption lounge and dispensary on the entire East Coast, and you can take my word for it,” affirmed Raekwon. “We will be right in the heart of it all!”
Charlamagne Tha God, a key partner in the project, chimed in on Raekwon’s announcement to celebrate the approval, stating, “I Love The Brick City, and I love that we get to create jobs for our people. We thank GOD for it ALL!”
According to NJBiz, this pivotal approval came during a July 24th board meeting, following an initial denial to establish a Class 5 cannabis retail facility.
“Our collaboration with Hashstoria, founded by the iconic rapper Raekwon from the Wu-Tang Clan, the dedicated civil rights attorney Bakari Sellers, the renowned radio and TV personality and mental health advocate Charlamagne Tha God, among others, represents a deliberate initiative to establish a cannabis retail dispensary and consumption lounge. This endeavor not only pays homage to Newark’s rich heritage but also underscores our commitment to social justice, expungement, mental health, and fostering creativity,” expressed Rachael Grochowski, principal at RGH A+D.
While there have been significant achievements this summer for Raekwon, such as his June wedding to Jasmine in Dallas, where fellow Clan members RZA and Ghostface Killah, along with notable figures like Fat Joe, Nas, and N.O.R.E., attended, there remains one final hurdle for Hashtoria. The venture awaits the crucial final approval from the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission to officially secure its path forward and open its doors to the public.
