Eminem once paid tribute to Redman by proclaiming him the best rapper alive in one of his verses. Fans of Reggie Noble were thrilled when he surprised them with the release of his EP titled “3 Joints” this week. Redman’s signature sense of humor and impressive flows are still intact, as evident in one of the tracks called “Slap Da Shit Outcha.” This particular song is a hilarious banger accompanied by an infectious instrumental.
In “Slap Da Shit Outcha,” Redman employs hyperbolic storytelling to humorously explain what would provoke him to physically admonish someone. From his kids taking the batteries out of the remote to people asking him for money, he presents comical reasons that make it difficult not to laugh while simultaneously nodding along to the synth-heavy beat. The clever use of smacking effects as percussions throughout the track further enhances the impact of Redman’s bars, creating an even more potent listening experience.
