Smack DVD | Jadakiss
Smack DVD featuring Jadakiss was one of the better of the best of all the releases. If I remember correctly, it dropped right when Kiss’s “Kiss of Death” CD dropped or was about to drop. Anyone of the young cats reading this probably doesn’t have a clue what Smack DVD is.
Smack was, I believe, the first cat to pop up in all the rappers’ hoods to get the raw footage and some bars from all the cats killin’ it at the time. He had shit on lock too, everyone that came afterwards that tried to copy his recipe was just bitin’ and couldn’t put the content together like Smack did. He had the heaviest of the heavy hitters on all them joints.
I ain’t gonna front though, some of the rap cats on there was bullshittin’ real heavy, running their mouths like most people do when they’re in front of a video camera, drawin’, doing some nutty shit, but for the most part them DVD’s was all flames.
This clip below is Smack DVD in Yonkers, New York with K-I-Double, making their rounds through the back back streets & dirty blocks, putting the content together. To me it seems like Smack had the content game figured out way back then, that’s why he had every hood in every city waiting on the next release. From the DVD’s I think he went on to putting together rap battles and from there I’m not sure. But them DVD’s were heavy. Anyway, check it out.
