The Rise Of Graffiti Writing | From New York To Europe EP02
This web-series chronicles the origins of graffiti in New York and its subsequent rise in Europe from 1981 and beyond. Throughout the series, viewers will encounter influential figures such as LEE, FUTURA2000, CHARLIE AHEARN, FAB5FREDDY, SKEME, the TATS CRU, YAKI KORNBLIT, and a select group of European graffiti pioneers like SHOE (Amsterdam), BANDO (Paris), MODE2 (London), 3D (Bristol), DELTA (Amsterdam), STONE (Munich), LOOMIT (Munich), HESH (Hamburg), CANTWO (Mainz), MICKEY (Amsterdam), among others.
The initial season of the web-series (covering the period from 1973 to 1988) will be available in 10 episodes on ARTE.TV/CREATIVE, ILOVEGRAFFITI.DE, and across the world wide web. The first two episodes are currently accessible, providing a glimpse into the ’70s and early ’80s through interviews with key figures such as members of the TATS CRU, LEE, FUTURA2000, SKEME, CHARLIE AHEARN, FAB5FREDDY, and more. Each episode will be released gradually, offering an in-depth exploration of the graffiti movement’s evolution during this significant period.
