“Topcans Worldwide Aerosols” Card Game
Topcans Worldwide Aerosols is an engaging card game that draws inspiration from the world of spray cans, particularly in the context of graffiti art, where 32 iconic spray cans have been or are still being utilized. The game is an adaptation of a traditional quartet and involves six exciting categories: the can’s year of origin, its drying time, distinctive smell, spraying volume, opacity, and the breadth of its color palette.
Extensive research and evaluation have been carried out to curate the content of the playing cards, which include historical facts, insights from experienced sprayers, and external reviews. While the game encompasses a comprehensive selection, it may not cover every single spray can worldwide, given the vast array available. Nevertheless, the card game includes 32 meticulously chosen cards, featuring what is deemed to be the most crucial and influential spray cans over the past four decades. Prepare for an exciting journey into the world of aerosols and graffiti art with Topcans Worldwide Aerosols.
Topcans Worldwide Aerosols has established specific test methods and evaluation criteria to ensure a fair gaming experience for all players. The following methods were utilized to guarantee accuracy and reliability:
Color Palette: The manufacturer’s provided data serves as the reference for evaluating the color range of each spray can. The highest color range value wins.
Loudness: Decibel levels were precisely measured using a “Banana Skinny” and a microphone placed one meter from the spray location. The lowest decibel level value wins.
Odor: Dry tests were conducted indoors at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, atmospheric pressure of 1.008 hPa, and relative humidity of 70%. The time it takes for the paint to become spreadable was measured and recorded. The odor evaluation is based on a scale of 1 to 4, with 1 being low odor, 2 medium odor, 3 strong odor, and 4 stinky odor. The highest odor rating wins.
Opacity: The opacity of each spray can was assessed and ranked on a scale of 1 to 4, with 1 representing bad opacity, 2 medium opacity, 3 good opacity, and 4 very good opacity. The highest opacity value wins.
Drying Time: The time it takes for the paint to dry was precisely measured for each spray can. The lowest drying time value wins in this category.
In the card game, the respective values are compared, and the highest or lowest value, as indicated, determines the winner for each category. These evaluation criteria ensure a comprehensive and objective assessment of the spray cans’ attributes, allowing players to engage in a competitive and enjoyable gaming experience.
Rules Of the Game
Two or more (we recommend a maximum of six) people can participate in the game. The cards are shuffled and distributed evenly among the players. Everyone holds their cards stacked in a pack in their hand in such a way that only the top sheet can be seen – and only for him or her. The player to the left of the dealer now names any characteristic of his card. The players now name the corresponding data on their top card, and the player whose card has the best value wins the top cards of all players and puts them at the bottom of his or her pack. Usually the highest value is considered the best, with some parameters the lowest – for example, in the case of opacity from 1 to 4, the highest number wins, for other categories such as the year of origin, it is recommended
If two or more players have cards of the same best value, all players place their top cards in the middle and the players with the best value play a decider. The player who announced before, in turn, names a number; the winner of this round wins the cards from the tied round in addition to the cards from the tie-break.
If a player has lost all their cards, they are eliminated and the game is continued by the remaining participants. The winner is the last person to win all the cards.
Since the game can take a long time, it is advisable to set a time limit. The winner is then whoever has the most cards at the end of the agreed playing time.
1. Shuffle and deal the cards to the players.
2. The player on your left starts the first round.
3. The player whose turn it is chooses a value from their current card.
4. The player who wins the rank gets the other player’s card.
5. Before a round starts, it is determined whether the higher or the lower value wins.
6. A player loses when he/she has no more cards in hand.

Short Facts
The New York graffiti writers of the 1970s and 1980s used poorly covering and often highly toxic lead-containing spraycans. Shortly after, European teenagers began spray-painting walls and trains. If one wanted to spray graffiti in the 1980s, they had to go to hardware market stores and hobby shops to purchase (or steal) the often pricey spraypaints. Hobby spray cans like Marabu, belton RAL, Quick, and automotive paints like Eisodur or Auto-K were particularly popular in the graffiti scene.
By the mid-1990s, the first Spanish and German spraycan manufacturers started catering to the rapidly growing subculture, developing formulations that met the demands of graffiti writers. Pigmentation, coverage, drying times and valve systems with compatible caps for thin or thick line widths were completely overhauled. The introduction of graffiti spraycans such as the MTN Hardcore or Belton Molotow Premium revolutionized the methodology, look, and aesthetics of graffiti.
Almost 30 years later, a diverse market has emerged, giving rise to countless brands. We have tested old and new spraycans from around the world in different categories to produce this 32 playing card game. Whether it’s old industry spraycans still available today like KRYLON, QUICK, HIT COLOR, and AUTO-K, or graffiti spraycans like MTN, MOLOTOW, MONTANA, LOOP, KOBRA, they all have their place in the Topcans Aerosol Worldwide 2023 card game.
