While the Air Jordan 1 KO has maintained a presence over the years, 2023 has given it renewed attention through the unveiling of the Air Jordan 1 KO Low. Presented in collaboration with Union LA, this low-top iteration of the classic silhouette has been eagerly awaited for decades. Amidst the numerous headlines it has claimed this year, the high-top version has also undergone transformations, including the recent appearance of a satin “Field Purple” variant.

The iconic “Laney” color scheme now graces the Air Jordan 1 KO, drawing inspiration from Laney High School in Wilmington, NC, where Michael Jordan honed his basketball skills before his University of North Carolina days. This iteration combines “True Blue” and “Topaz Gold” for a blend of familiarity and freshness. Crafted using the AJ1KO’s timeless canvas construction, the blue hue dominates the base, except for the golden toe, and covers most of the overlays. Additionally, “Topaz Gold” accents the Swooshes, collar, and laces, while an off-white-on-blue sole pairing rounds out the design.

As of now, Nike has yet to release specific details regarding the launch of the Air Jordan 1 KO in the new “Laney” colorway. However, it’s anticipated to become available on September 30 through Nike SNKRS and select retailers, with a retail price of $150 USD.
