Four Nike Air Max 1 ’86 Colorways Being Released April 22nd

Nike marked Air Max Day this year by featuring the sneaker that started it all – the Air Max 1. In addition to re-releasing the original colorway, the brand updated the silhouette with the same large bubble it sported in 1986.

Although the festive occasion has come to an end, Nike is not ready to retire the oversized Air unit just yet. In fact, they are continuing its legacy with four new colorways of the Nike Air Max 1 ’86, created with the help of Kids of Immigrants. This community-driven campaign aims to support those around you.

The collection includes “Light Armory Blue,” “Light Silver,” “Smokey Mauve,” and the newly-unveiled “Dark Team Red,” each limited to 1,986 pairs to pay homage to the origins of the Tinker Hatfield-designed icon. Despite each option’s unique color scheme, all four include the iconic “Big Bubble” and aged packaging used for their Air Max Day release. The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 collection will be exclusively available at Dover Street Market in LA and London on April 22nd, with a special installation to be held at the retailer the day before.
