Fragment Design x Nike Air Force 1 Low
Hiroshi Fujiwara, the founder of fragment design, brings his distinctive black Air Force 1 aesthetic to a new collaboration with Nike. This partnership unveils an all-black Air Force 1 Low, a counterpart to the previously revealed all-white fragment design x Nike Air Force 1 Low. Maintaining consistency, both pairs share tonal details and custom branding touches, with the unveiling orchestrated by GOD SELECTION XXX founder Yasunari Miyazaki.
Adhering to the classic low-cut Air Force 1 silhouette, this edition departs from the premium leather and heavily padded original heel tabs seen in last year’s 40th-anniversary edition “Since 82” AF1s. What distinguishes this collaboration are the unique branded elements courtesy of the Godfather of Streetwear, including fragment design’s lightning bolt logo on the lateral heel and a debossed “FRGMT” logo on the midsole.
The collaborative journey between fragment design and Nike dates back over two decades, originating with the release of the first HTM (Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield, and Mark Parker) Air Force 1 in 2002. While their joint ventures have explored diverse styles, from croc-skin-covered Air Force 1 Lows to Lunar Force 1 Lows and a three-headed silk collaboration with CLOT, this latest iteration reflects a simpler, more timeless aesthetic. Resonating with the enduring style of Supreme’s box-logo-adorned black and white AF1 Lows, this collaboration embraces a similarly unaltered look.
While an official release date remains undisclosed, anticipation builds for the expected launch in 2024. Expect a price range falling between $120 and $160 USD for this eagerly awaited collaboration.
