Nike Air Max 1 Puerto Rico

The Nike Air Max 1 “Puerto Rico” is inspired by popular flavors of Piragua. For over a decade now, Nike has been paying homage to Puerto Rico through its special creations. While they’ve encountered challenges in the past, resulting in a few cancellations, their plans for 2023 seem to be on track without any obstacles. This year, the iconic Swoosh brand is commemorating Puerto Rico with not just one, but two vibrant iterations of the beloved Air Max 1. These designs, despite residing on opposite ends of the color spectrum, draw inspiration from a beloved frozen treat called piragua. The tongue labels of the shoes feature playful depictions of the dessert’s popular flavors like coconut (coco) and pineapple (piña), complete with legs, arms, and their very own Air Max 1s.

Both colorways, named “Blue Gale” and “Orange Frost,” boast equally striking appearances. Warm and cool tones are artfully applied to the leather and suede panels in various shades, resulting in captivating contrasts. Although they differ in color palette, the pairs share several notable features. Alongside the elegant “Puerto Rico” embroidery adorning the heels, both versions showcase oversized jewel Swooshes, a textured heather textile base, and metallic dubraes imprinted with the territory’s name. Presented in shoeboxes that align with the thematic elements of the release, the two upcoming “Puerto Rico” Air Max 1s are anticipated to hit the market sometime in June. While we eagerly await a more precise release date, you can take a closer examination of these captivating colorways below.
