Olaolu Slawn’s Nike Air Max 90 Collaboration
A new collaboration featuring a paint-speckle design that nods to Olaolu Slawn’s raw and graffiti-adjacent style is on the way.
Olaolu Slawn has become one of the most sought-after artists in the world. After relocating from Nigeria to London in 2017, he quickly gained recognition for his canvases that blend caricature pop figures, bold colors, and distinct shapes.
His art explores themes of psychology, race, politics, and the challenges of being part of an ethnic minority. Slawn’s unique perspective has earned him a dedicated following, unlocking new opportunities and allowing him to represent the communities that shaped him.
Now, Slawn is collaborating with Nike on two new Air Max 90 silhouettes. The collaboration merges the iconic AM90 design with Slawn’s forward-thinking artwork, available in two black-and-white colorways featuring a paint-speckle pattern that reflects his raw, graffiti-inspired style.
This collection signals how Slawn’s work transcends the studio and makes its way onto the streets of London.
The sneakers also feature Slawn’s signature “cartoonish” figures with a bold, defiant stare embossed on the heel cap and throughout the leather upper. Of course, the iconic Air Bubble is also included in the design, completing the collaboration.
Take a closer look at the Olaolu Slawn x Nike Air Max 90 below, set to debut at a London pop-up on March 1, followed by an online release on Nike’s website on April 4.
